  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup can substitute with cream of chicken
  • 1 cup milk or beef broth for added creaminess or flavor
  • 2 cups cheddar cheese shredded, sharp or Monterey Jack
  • 1 onion diced, yellow or white
  • 3 cloves garlic fresh minced
  • 1 teaspoon paprika smoked paprika adds extra flavor
  • to taste salt
  • to taste pepper
  • for garnish chopped parsley optional

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and diced onion for about 5-7 minutes until browned.
  3. Stir in minced garlic and cook for another 30 seconds.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine cream of mushroom soup, milk or broth, paprika, salt, and pepper; whisk until smooth.
  5. In the prepared baking dish, combine cooked rice, beef mixture, half of the cheddar cheese, and the creamy sauce; mix thoroughly.
  6. Sprinkle remaining cheddar cheese on top, cover with foil, and bake for 20 minutes.
  7. Uncover and bake for another 10 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
  8. Optional: Broil for an additional 2 minutes for a crispier top, watching closely to avoid burning.
  9. Let cool for a few minutes before serving, garnished with chopped parsley if desired.
