- In a large mixing bowl, combine cubed butternut squash, diced Gala apples, ground cinnamon, vanilla extract, and brown sugar or honey. Season with salt and black pepper.
- Transfer the mixture into a lidded baking dish and dot the top with butter. Cover and bake for 15 minutes.
- After 15 minutes, remove the lid and sprinkle golden raisins, dried cranberries, and nuts over the mixture. Toss gently and cover again.
