- Cut the brioche or challah bread into thick slices, about 1-inch thick, and arrange them in a greased baking dish.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, heavy cream, sugar, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and salt until fully combined.
- Pour the custard evenly over the bread slices, pressing down gently. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or overnight.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake uncovered for about 25-30 minutes until golden brown and set.
- Remove from the oven and sprinkle sugar over the top. Use a kitchen torch to caramelize the sugar until golden.
