Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9x5-inch loaf pan by greasing it.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, kosher salt, and espresso powder.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat olive oil, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
  4. Add eggs, vanilla extract, and sour cream to the wet mixture, blending well.
  5. Mash ripe bananas and fold them into the wet mixture.
  6. Gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  7. Dust chocolate chips with flour and fold them into the batter, reserving some for topping.
  8. Pour batter into the prepared loaf pan, top with reserved chocolate chips and optional banana slices.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 55-65 minutes. Check for doneness with a toothpick.
  10. Let the bread cool in the pan for about 20 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
