  • 1/4 cup Granulated Sugar Sugar alternative can be used

  • 1 tbsp Lemon Juice Optional
For the Glaze
  • 1 large Egg Beaten for glaze
  • 1 cup Powdered Sugar
  • 2 tbsp Milk Dairy-free option can be used

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the thawed puff pastry into an even sheet and cut into 3x3 inch squares.
  3. In a mixing bowl, beat together softened cream cheese, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and optional lemon juice until smooth.
  4. Spoon about 1 tablespoon of the cream cheese mixture onto the center of each pastry square.
  5. Brush the edges of each pastry with the egg wash for a golden-brown finish.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-18 minutes, or until puffed and golden brown.
  7. Let them cool on a wire rack, then prepare the glaze by mixing powdered sugar with milk until smooth.
  8. Drizzle the glaze over each warm Danish and serve immediately.
