Step-by-Step Instructions for Spinach and Lentil Burgers
  1. In a large mixing bowl, start by adding cooked lentils, chopped fresh spinach, and breadcrumbs. Next, sprinkle in grated Parmesan cheese, chopped onion, minced garlic, ground cumin, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix all these ingredients thoroughly using a fork or your hands.
  2. Crack a large egg into the mixture and stir until well combined. If the mixture feels too wet, gradually sprinkle in additional breadcrumbs until it holds together.
  3. Divide the mixture into four equal portions and carefully shape each portion into a patty, making them about half-inch thick.
  4. Heat a tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the shaped burgers to the skillet without overcrowding.
  5. Fry the patties for 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for another 4-5 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Transfer the burgers to your favorite buns and add fresh toppings like lettuce, tomato, or avocado. Serve immediately.
