Equipment

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, pour in 2-3 cups of whole milk and ½ cup of heavy cream. Stir occasionally while heating, watching for gentle steam rising, but do not allow it to boil. This process should take about 3 minutes.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together ½ cup of cocoa powder and 1-2 tablespoons of grated milk chocolate. Gradually add a small amount of the hot milk mixture to this bowl, stirring consistently until you achieve a smooth paste. This step takes about 2 minutes.
  3. Carefully pour the silky cocoa mixture back into the saucepan with the remaining milk and cream. Use a whisk to incorporate everything smoothly while adding 14 oz of sweetened condensed milk and ⅛ teaspoon of vanilla extract. Continue whisking for about 3 minutes until it’s well mixed and creamy.
  4. Lower the heat to a gentle simmer, keeping a close eye on the mixture. Stir frequently for about 3-5 minutes, allowing the hot chocolate to thicken until it coats the back of a spoon.
  5. Once the Disneyland’s Hot Chocolate has reached the perfect thickness, pour it into cozy mugs. Top each serving generously with whipped cream and a sprinkle of ground cinnamon.
