Step-by-Step Instructions

  2. While onions caramelize, season the shredded chicken with salt and pepper. In another skillet, heat olive oil and add chicken. Sear until lightly browned.
  3. Once onions are caramelized, deglaze the skillet with chicken broth. Stir in orzo, heavy cream, thyme, and chicken. Simmer for 5-7 minutes.
  4. Preheat oven to 375°F. Transfer mixture to a greased baking dish, mix in half of the mozzarella and sprinkle the remaining on top. Bake for 20-25 minutes.
  5. Let casserole rest for 5-10 minutes before serving. Garnish with thyme or parsley.
