Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with butter or non-stick spray.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef for about 7–10 minutes until browned. Drain excess grease and season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine uncooked rice, French onion soup mix, and beef broth. Stir in sautéed ground beef and sour cream until well combined.
  4. Transfer the rice and beef mixture into the greased baking dish and spread evenly. Sprinkle shredded cheese on top.
  5. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 40 minutes. Then remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  6. Sprinkle French fried onions on top and bake for another 5 minutes until crispy and golden.
  7. Let the casserole cool for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
