Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Prepare the Onions: Peel and trim the sweet onions, making four vertical cuts downward towards the root.
  2. Mix the Coating: Combine flour with spices in one bowl; whisk egg and milk in another. Coat onions with flour, dip in egg wash, and coat again in flour.
  3. Preheat the Air Fryer: Preheat to 375°F (190°C) for a few minutes. Place coated onions in the air fryer basket with root side down.
  4. Air Fry the Onions: Spritz with oil and cook for about 10 minutes, adding an extra 2 minutes if needed for crispiness.
  5. Serve and Enjoy: Carefully remove onions, allow to cool slightly, and serve hot with a yogurt dip or spicy salsa.
