- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef and cook for 7–10 minutes until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Add finely chopped onion to the skillet and sauté for 3–4 minutes until translucent.

- Peel and slice potatoes thinly. Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish. Layer half of the potato slices at the bottom.
- Spread the beef and onion mixture evenly over the potatoes.

- In a separate bowl, whisk together milk and melted butter. Pour over the casserole.
- Top generously with shredded cheese.
- Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes; uncover and bake for an additional 15–20 minutes until cheese is golden.
