Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 225°F (110°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk egg whites in a clean, dry mixing bowl on medium speed until foamy.
  3. Add cream of tartar to egg whites and whisk on high until soft peaks form.
  4. Gradually add sugar, whisking continuously until stiff, glossy peaks form.
  5. Fold in vanilla extract and green gel food coloring gently.
  6. Transfer meringue to a piping bag and pipe tree shapes onto the baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 1 hour and 30 minutes, then cool in the oven with the door ajar.
  8. Allow meringues to cool for 30 minutes before removing from baking sheet.
